Good Stuff 12 07 2014
Yes, I’ve been away for awhile and I do apologize BUT, it's been a rather crazy couple of months filled with loads of travel and unfortunately a hospital stay. Phew.
But now that I’m back here’s some good stuff for today!
Snowfall Desktop Screensaver
I love this screensaver by Russell Warneboldt.
It makes me happy because snow falling is pretty especially from inside. You know, inside where it is warm and cozy and not 21 degrees fahrenheit.
There are several options such as changing the background color and the speed of the snow fall. It also seems to work fine on Yosemite which is what I’m currently using.
Beta Testing Format's New Pages Feature
I love being part of beta tests.
And Format’s new customizable pages feature is one I had to try out because well, it's yet another website creation platform for small businesses and solopreneurs (btw — is this term getting old? Random thought ;-) and hey, I do my research!
So far, so good. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to show photos (screengrabs) so I won't yet but for those of you already using Format, this new feature is pretty sweet.
Overall, Format has a seriously easy-to-use admin area. Super intuitive and beautiful. If you need a website quick and easy, Format is definitely one to consider along with Squarespace (I use it for this website) and for photographers, Photoshelter.
The Creative Class Class by Paul Jarvis
So, I signed up for Paul Jarvis's The Creative Class: Become a Better Freelancer course last month and I'm actively trying to catch up but I wanted to share that so far it is an amazing class.
I think what I love most so far is his generosity. He gives his all and shares so much of his own experience and just when you think the content he has already delivered is it, he gives you more.
There are a lot of concepts I’m already familiar with but with anything there is always something to learn. Never let your ego get in the way of learning, right? And, it's always a good thing to hear how someone else explains business related concepts.
So, this is the long way of saying, if you want to be a better freelancer and want to reduce the pain and challenges of being one, sign up for The Creative Class.
2015 is just around the corner. It's a great time to invest in your business.
