Let’s take advantage of some free local love opportunities, shall we?

Here’s a quick and dirty list of the types of information to gather to get some lovin’. Once you create one profile for one directory, it’s pretty much copy and paste and it is very important that you fill out every bit of information to maximize your chances.

  • Your logo
  • A description of your business and services
  • A phone number
  • A real street address (no P.O. Boxes)
  • Your Email Address
  • Your website url
  • Brief history of your business
  • A category for your business (i.e. restaurants, spa, gardening, etc.)
  • Keywords or phrases that best categorize your business
  • A Bio for yourself and if you have employees, bios for them, too.
  • Photos of your business
  • Be prepared to recommend some local businesses
  • If you have any offers or announcements

When you are ready, sign-up and submit your business to these local directories: (Note: One part of the process is getting verified. It usually goes pretty quickly and depends on the directory. You can also claim your business if someone has already reviewed your business.

Now put your personalized links on your Facebook Fan Page, your website and/or your email signature. Yelp even gives you a badge you can proudly display on your website. Make it easy for your customers to find you and encourage them to give you some love!
